A BONE marrow drive to save the life of young Aveley boy Kai Nell will be held in Ellenbrook next Thursday.
The three-year-old was diagnosed with high-risk acute myeloid leukaemia in July for the second time in a year. He underwent a bone marrow transplant last year, but needs another to survive.
Kai’s family were hoping to hear last week he had gone into remission, but were told there were still leukaemia cells present.
Kai has gone back to Princess Margaret Hospital for more chemotherapy this week and will undergo a bone marrow transplant later in the year using his infant brother’s blood cells, if a suitable adult match is not found.
The drive will be held on Thursday, September 22, from 1.30pm to 6pm at WA Dental, 3/150 Coolamon Boulevard, Ellenbrook.
