Purple Haze Day Ellen Stirling Primary School will take part in Purple Haze Day this month to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The school, which has taken part in the fundraiser for the past five years, hopes to beat its fundraising record from last year by raising more than $2430.

School principal Dr Dean Goldspink said this year students from SEDA and Ellen Stirling would host porting activities throughout the day on the school oval.

He said it was also a chance for students to dress up in purple and “strut their stuff” in a fashion parade.

“Our students raise money for other children with greater needs than themselves. Purple Haze Day shows a real sense of respect and empathy on behalf of the Ellen Stirling and Ellenbrook communities,” he said.

Purple Haze Day will be held on March 29.
