Ellenbrook couple find Lotto luck

Montana ArdonThe Advocate

The couple, who did not check their ticket until this week, entered the Lotterywest winner’s room on Friday.

They said the new Aldi store had lured them to Belmont Forum last month, but the line was so long they decided to buy a Lotto ticket instead.

“We noticed how many winning plaques Here’s Luck Lottery Centre had displayed, so we thought they might sell us a winner,” they said.

The ticket then remained unchecked in their wallet for almost a month.

“It wasn’t until weeks later that I remembered we even had the ticket and thought we should see how we went,” one of the new millionaires said.

“It was a real shock when we got to the very last line and all the numbers matched; I knew we’d just won Lotto.

“Then all I could think was that we needed to keep the ticket safe and get straight to Lotterywest.”

The couple, who were the second West Australians to share in $1,571,428 from the $22 million Superdraw, said they would use the money to pay off some of the mortgage and revamp their garden and kitchen.
