“The competition allows for personal growth as well as providing a platform for my staff.”

The Ellenbrook stylist said she had come a long way since she started her career more than two decades ago.

“I started off my career in the UK moving up the ranks with international company Toni and Guy salons,” she said.

“I then became an educator and moved to Australia in 2006.

“I left the company about a year later and worked as an international hairdresser trainer.

“After that I was freelance for three years while my children where young and then made the decision to buy the salon on Main St in Ellenbrook.”

Ms Banks said HairArt had grown substantially in just over three years.

“Ellenbrook and surrounding suburbs have experienced tremendous growth and I hope to entice more people to travel to my salon for the HairArt experience now the roads are built and it is easier to access to Ellenbrook.”

The awards were held on April 14 at Luna Park in Sydney.
