“It’s disappointing to know it happened any time, not just the night of my fight,” he said.

“It’s a shocking incident.

“All I know is what I’ve read in the paper that he was trying to stop a fight.

“He was trying to be a peaceful guy and now he’s fighting for his life.”

Green said fighting outside of the ring was “disgusting”.

He said fighting when under the influence of alcohol was cowardly.

“Step into the ring, or step into the cage… with a trained professional fighter who know what they’re doing and will test you,” he said.
