Individual employees were also honoured for their hard work and achievements.

Forty-two awards were presented, recognising the best of WA hospitality, including WA’s Best Small Bar, WA’s Best |Regional Casual Pub Dining, WA’s Best Boutique Brewery and WA’s Best Restaurant.

The Brook owner David Strom, whose company also includes The Gate Bar and Bistro in Cockburn and The Ashby Bar and Bistro, was recognised with the Hospitality Industry Lifetime Achievement Award, while employee Kim O’Driscoll took out the PubTAB Operator Award.

AHA WA chief executive Bradley Woods said the future of WA hospitality was bright thanks to the level of passion demonstrated by the staff and leaders of the businesses named as finalists and winners tonight.

“The commitment that the owners, managers and staff have to WA’s hospitality industry and their venues, shone through tonight,” he said.

“WA’s hospitality venues provide world-class food, beverages, service and atmosphere to locals and visitors from interstate and overseas.

“When it comes to quality, the bar is raised higher every year and judging the awards is not easy.

“WA’s hotels, bars and dining venues are playing an ever- increasing role in the state’s economy and it’s important |to recognise the hard work of the people who make it all happen.”
