Ellenbrook mothers launch Messy Monsters business for kids

Lisa ThomasThe Advocate

The business, which opened last Friday, encourages children to make as much mess as possible while having fun and developing their senses.

Messy Monsters WA caters for children aged six months to six years and |offers activities including a cake smash, coloured spaghetti, jelly, yoghurt paint, a water station, slime and ice cream.

Messy Monsters WA co-owner Yvonne Arends said the idea stemmed from her own children and wanting to provide fun and educational activities for them.

“We both have little ones and wanted to be working mums and we knew there weren’t many activities for kids in the area or anything else like this on offer,” she said.

“Mums are always telling kids not to make a mess, so we thought this would be a lot of fun and an outlet for kids.”

Messy Monsters will be running three sessions a week, with a range of different messy activities on offer each time.

Ms Arends said the business had a lot of interest from the community so far.

“The kids had a great time and the parents were looking forward to them sleeping well when they got home,” she said.
