ELLENBROOK residents will have access to a new east-west bus service to Whitfords from this month after an announcement by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti today.
The bus service, which will start on August 28, is set to cut public transport times between Ellenbrook and Joondalup and Wangara by half.
The Route 355 service will provide Ellenbrook residents with direct access to the train line, an alternate route to the CBD and link them to 18 bus services at Whitfords station.

“Public transport is all about providing services to the community which will deliver convenient and affordable links to the areas they want to travel to,” she said.
“At the election we promised Ellenbrook residents a better deal under Metronet, committing to build the Morley to Ellenbrook line and to improving bus services in the area.
“I urge all residents of Ellenbrook to embrace this new service to ensure it remains viable for the long term.”
Transperth will also be increasing Route 335 from Ellenbrook to Midland as of August 28, with four additional trips on weekdays.
Swan Hills MLA Jessica Shaw said the bus route would be especially beneficial for young people in Ellenbrook.
“It’s going to really enable young people in Ellenbrook to access employment opportunities and entertainment areas,” Ms Shaw said.
