Lisa ThomasThe Advocate

ELLENBROOK Secondary College students from the education support unit have given the school’s garden a makeover.

The students have been taking part in weekly agricultural lessons and have received weekly gardening tips from the school’s gardener.

Education support unit head Daniella O’Farrell said the students helped to dig up the old plants, dig holes and put in the new plants.

“The project offered work experience for the students and an opportunity to give back to the school,” she said.

“The students really enjoyed the exercise and the chance to be outside. Many of them have an interest in gardening and have aspirations to do it as a job later in life, so it was valuable experience for them.”
