Ellenbrook town centre gets eight new CCTV cameras

Pearce MHR Christian Porter said the cameras would help put a halt to crime in the suburb.

“The investment in security infrastructure like these CCTV cameras is shown to be an effective crime prevention measure that provides significant deterrence to anti-social behaviour,” he said.

“The cameras increase fear of detection and apprehension on the part of an offender.

“Our community has a right to feel safe and secure, and the installation of these CCTV cameras is one way to achieve it.”

Mr Porter said the Federal Government committed $250,000 towards the cameras under the Safer Streets Program.
