Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said the Government had entered a “far more detailed planning phase” after community consultation.
“We recently revealed concept plans for the Bayswater Station upgrade, which will start construction next year and form the first stage of works for the Morley-Ellenbrook Line,” she said.
This stage of planning would involve route options, land investigations and concept designs including stations and surrounding areas.
A tender for similar work on the Karnup station, in Perth’s far south, had been awarded to GHD Pty Ltd.
A tender for the new Midland Station and Midland Line extension to Bellevue would be awarded soon.
