Ellenbrook’s lifestyle adds to its popularity, says demographer Bernard Salt

Mr Salt was describing some broad demographic trends in his capacity as keynote speaker at the Australia Day WA Being Australian Social Inclusion Symposium: Building Socially Inclusive Communities, held at the University Club of WA.

“It is quite impervious to collapse,” Mr Salt said of the continuing appeal of the Swan Valley suburb, which is still growing at almost 9 per cent per annum.

“I think it’s because it delivers an aspirational lifestyle.

“It has the right geography: it’s clean, green, close and pretty.

“Every major city needs a lifestyle option nearby and Ellenbrook is it.

“For some reason it has captured that spirit of lifestyle that Perth people want.”
