“It’s a great chance for local families to relax, spend some time with their family and get involved in a community event,” he said.

“The city and Council work hard to provide a varied and interesting calendar of events each summer and movie nights like this are at the top of my list.”

The event is the first in a long list of events being held by the city this month, including Hyperfest 2017, Swan Valley unearthed and Folks and Roots @ Guildford.

The Swan Valley Outdoor Movie Night will kick off from 5.30pm, with the movie commencing at 7pm February 17 at Baskerville Oval.

People are asked to bring picnic blankets and low back chairs.

The event is alcohol and smoke free
