Firing up the kiln for holiday fun

Caroline Frank, The AdvocateThe Advocate

Last Sunday, the Whiteman Park Pottery Association celebrated its quarter-century anniversary and group members Natalie Harrop and Vickie Little worked to paint and fire some pots.

The group operates on a voluntary basis, with members often devoting much of their personal resources to ensure the success of the group. They are from widely different backgrounds and produce an equally diverse range of pottery.

Between them, they have won many awards, including the prestigious Darlington Arts Festival pottery prize.

Work from the Whiteman Park group is also in the art collections of both the City of Swan and Shire of Mundaring.
