PRIMARY schools have received $5000 worth of books as part of recent Book Week celebrations.

The books for Forrestfield and Beechboro primary schools came courtesy of Perth Airport and Dymocks Children’s Charities, which develops projects to improve literacy.

Since the partnership began, the airport has donated more than $60,000 worth of books to schools.

Forrestfield Primary School principal Diane Greenaway said the school was grateful for the books.

“This grant will be of significant benefit to current and future students, and we imagine that these books will further entice children to visit the library, and encourage a love of reading,” she said.
