GINGIN will rev to life for the 27th annual GINGIN BRITISH CAR DAY from 10am to 4pm in the grounds of the Granville Civic Centre on Sunday, May 15. Event organiser Robert Brodie-Hall said the free event coincided with National Motoring Heritage Day and would feature hundreds of British cars on display.

Mr Brodie-Hall said performers would include the Storyville Jazz Band, Kalamunda District Pipe Band, the Dancing Fillies and students of Roxanne’s Dance Workshop.

“There will be children’s games, rides and a climbing wall operated by Gingin Scout Group, as well as the recently refurbished Gingin Railway Station,” he said.

The Australian Model Ship Society will display working model boats, with a finale featuring the burning of a ship, complete with men overboard and fire-fighting tugboats to the rescue.

“Visitors can browse the variety of market stalls, offering everything from jewellery to massage and local produce,” Mr Brodie-Hall said.

“There will be hot food, devonshire teas, ice cream, fairy floss, cool drinks and a licensed bar where people can enjoy the very English half-pint and a pork pie.”
