Gingin Medical Centre closing temporarily

Staff WriterThe Advocate

THE Gingin Medical Centre will close next week following the departure of GP Mariette Smit.

Shire of Gingin President Sam Collard said the centre would close for six business days to allow Dr Smit to vacate the premises and do a handover.

“The medical centre is expected to reopen on Tuesday, April 9, with Danel Conradie as the resident GP who will continue to be available to patients on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays,” Cr Collard said.

“The Shire is in the process of seeking additional medical support for Dr Conradie which includes the availability of locum GPs and/or nurse practitioners to work on Mondays and Wednesdays so that the medical centre can return to being open to the public five days a week.
