Growing school with strong heart

Staff ReporterThe Advocate

Principal Angela Evangelinou-Yiannakis said IHC offered classes from kindergarten to Year 4, with the intention of growing a year level each year.

‘The school will become a fully fledged primary school (K-6) by 2015,’ she said.

‘A recent wave of interest and new enrolments at the school is also creating excitement amongst the staff and students.

‘The growing numbers have attracted a dedicated bus service for the school, catering to students from Gingin, Bindoon and surrounding suburbs. The bus is also available for excursions which are taking place at a growing rate as a result.’

Dr Evangelinou-Yiannakis said another exciting venture progressing well at IHC was the nature-based play areas.

‘The nature-based play areas will provide an interesting dimension, not only to recess and lunch times for all of the children, but also to teaching and learning activities outside the classroom,’ she said.

A school canteen has also been introduced on campus which is expected to be |well-utilised during the winter months.
