Lisa ThomasThe Advocate

HARRIS Organic Wines will open their cellar to the public this week for workshops on sparkling wine as part of Entwined in the Valley.

The winery, which is one of the only certified organic fortified wineries in Australia, will hold three workshops over the week and guests will learn how traditional sparkling wine is made, be able to tour the grounds and taste some of the award-winning wines.

Winemaker Duncan Harris has been running the winery for the past 19 years and said his wine was not only good for people, but also the planet.

He said Entwined in the Valley was a good way for people to see what was on offer in the Swan Valley, especially the wineries that only sold their products from the cellar door.

“It’s a fantastic event. It’s what the Swan Valley needs,” he said.

“We’re very pleased that the City of Swan has put this together.”

The grounds of Harris Organic Wines is the only certified organic block in the Perth metropolitan area and nearly all of their wines are vegan-friendly.

Sparkling workshops will be held on Thursday, October 12 and Saturday, October 14 from 6pm until 8pm, and on Sunday ,October 15 from 2pm to 4pm.

Tickets are $25 per person.
