A HENLEY Brook family recently welcomed twins to their nest in a family trend of multiple births.

Amie Potter, who is a twin herself, gave birth to twins Kayla and Blake Brown on May 26.

She already had one daughter Lila (2) and her partner Myles Brown has a daughter Maddison (10).

Her twin sister, Danielle Gowran, said their mother Margaret Potter, of Yanchep, was a triplet born on April 16, 1955 with brother Jeffery Clark and sister Julie Plant.

The Two Rocks resident said it was unusual, particularly when their parents had twins in Moora on July 6, 1982.

“It’s meant to skip a generation and it hasn’t,” she said.

“We didn’t think that we would have twins and my sister did.”

Mrs Gowran said her mother had been one of seven children, with older and younger brothers and sisters, and the twins also had an older brother and sister.

“It was really fun; we always had someone to play with, had the same friends,” she said.

Mrs Gowran said Ms Potter had told them she was having twins before the first pregnancy scan proved her right, and being a twin herself would make caring for two babies easier.

“I think she will handle it really well,” she said.
