HOLY Cross College student Nikolas Dragicevich is proving to be a drumming prodigy, impressing the likes of musicians at the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

The 11-year-old was recently given a special exemption to attend a jazz camp, despite not being old enough to make the cut off age of 14, but impressed judges at WAAPA with a video of him playing.

While at the camp Nikolas got a chance to work closely with professional and amateur jazz musicians in an intensive workshop and performance environment.

Holy Cross College arts learning co-|ordinator Chris McRae said he was impressed by the young musician’s drive and ambition.

“Nikolas practices every lunchtime and his skills and passion for drumming and music are extremely admirable,” he said.
