HOUGHTON Winery will showcase the work of two female artists this month in the exhibition Pure Colour.
The exhibition will highlight the intense colour and beauty of landscapes and flora by artists Jackie Peach and Hayley Kruger.
The exhibition will highlight around 50 pieces of work and the unique techniques of both artists.
Ellenbrook’s Kruger said her work was heavily influence by her homeland South Africa and its flora.
She said this was her first exhibition since she started as an artist three years ago.
“My current work is on floral and the colour and beauty in flowers,” she said.
“I love working on single buds and focusing on the beauty of each one.”
The artists came together last year and decided to hold an exhibition together based on the similarities and differences of their work.
Peach, who won the Ellenbrook Art Award, last year, said their work complimented each other, but was also very different.
She said her work was of landscapes and the ocean and she used the unique technique of paint pouring rather than using brushwork.
“It’s very expressive and intuitive,” she said.
“This location for the exhibition is stunning. I love the history and brickwork and how it works with the colours of the paintings.”
The exhibition runs until May 28,10am to 5pm daily, at Houghton Winery.
