The pre-primary teacher has been nominated for the Early Childhood Teacher of the Year category in the WA Education Awards.

Ms Miller has spent her entire professional career at the school, after starting her career in 1991.

The Gingin resident said she was honoured with the nomination.

‘I was overwhelmed when I first heard that I was nominated,’ she said. ‘I have spent 22 years at the school, so it is nice to be recognised.’

Ms Miller said her contribution to the school had been a labour of love.

‘I have mainly been teaching pre-primary and I really like that age group because it allows me to be more diverse and teach music and physical education,’ she said.

‘The school has changed over the years but I have always had a good relationship with students, parents and fellow teachers.’

Winners will be announced at Crown Perth on December 2.
