A SWAN Valley hobby farmer had an exciting discovery last week when he found a giant mango on one of his trees.

Mon Comito said the giant mango is the biggest ever found on the property and weighed in at 1.75kg.

The R2E2 mango is just under half the size of the record for the world’s biggest mango, which was found in the Philippines in 2009 weighing in at 3.435kg.

Mr Comito said he had picked a number of large mangoes since growing them on his farm, but this was by far the biggest.

“Every year during mango season I get surprised by how big the mangoes get,” he said.

“It’s exciting finding them.”

Mr Comito sells his mangoes by the box from his farm – as well as other fruits, vegetables and nuts.

To buy some of his produce visit 125 Henley Street, Henley Brook.
