CHRIS Tunbridge has cerebral palsy and has been inspiring people by breaking down disability barriers.

He is raising money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and held a Big Aussie Barbie at the Midland Sports Complex last month as part of his campaign.

Middle Swan-based Rise network team leader Amanda O’Brien and Chris’ team of support workers helped plan the barbecue and visited supermarkets to get food donated.

Amanda supported Chris to write emails inviting the local press, sourced raffle prizes and put together a music playlist.

“It’s not often people with disability get opportunities like this,” Chris said.

“This is a very worthy cause and a good excuse to come together for a barbecue. Special thanks to Amanda who has helped me the most.”

Swan Deputy Mayor David Lucas and councillor Patty Williams attended, and were inspired by Chris’ efforts.
