Midland Naidoc committee is co-|ordinating the free event, with support from the City of Swan.

Mayor Mick Wainwright said the City was home to Perth’s largest Aboriginal population.

“Noongar people have lived in this area for more than 40,000 years and will share celebrations of their cultural heritage with the whole community at the event, which will feature live music, free bush tucker and children’s entertainment,” he said.

“The City is proud to support the event, both financially and with in-kind contributions.”

“The event will also bring together different language groups, but with the modern context this means people from all around the world who now call this area home,” he said.

Cr Wainwright will speak at the event.
