A PASSING motorist alerted emergency services after coming across a vehicle that had hit a tree near New Norcia on the Great Northern Highway early Tuesday morning.
The injured driver in his 40s was taken by the DFES Rescue helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital after the accident was reported just before 5am.
The helicopter, which had a St John Ambulance critical care paramedic on board, arrived about 7am at the hospital where he remains in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
It is understood the crash happened near the New Norcia bypass.
