Muchea bus crash: woman recovering in hospital following roll over on Great Northern Hwy

A WOMAN is recovering in hospital with spinal injuries after a mini bus carrying 18 passengers returning from a church group excursion rolled on Great Northern Highway on Saturday.

The RAC rescue helicopter arrived at the scene of the crash in Muchea about 5.30pm and took the seriously injured woman to Royal Perth Hospital.

An adult and a baby – who was not harmed – were taken by ambulance to RPH.

Six other passengers were taken to Joondalup and Midland hospitals with minor injuries.

A witness said the bus appeared to swerve before leaving the road, where it landed on its side.

Police closed the highway in both directions for several hours, causing traffic delays.
