MOTORISTS are being warned to drive to the speed limit or risk becoming a resource the state coffers.

A new fixed speed camera has been installed on West Swan Road in Caversham just south of Reid Highway.

The fixed speed camera is still in the construction and testing phase, and is expected to be operational later this year.

WA Police said more fixed speed camera sites were being developed, and some existing sites replaced.

“Fixed site speed cameras complement our mobile speed cameras and our daily traffic enforcement effort, reminding road users to stick to the speed limits and drive to the conditions at all times,” a spokesman said.

All fixed site speed camera locations are published on the WA Police Force website prior to the speed camera becoming operational.

It is the 13th fixed speed camera to be installed in WA with others located along the Kwinana Freeway, Roe Highway and Great Eastern Highway.
