One dead after house fire

POLICE have confirmed a person is dead in one of the three house fires around Perth last night.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services was notified of a fire at Savy Close in Bullsbrook just before 4am this morning.

A DFES spokesperson said 22 appliances attended the scene and the house was completely destroyed.

The damage caused and the source of the fire are still unknown at this time.

Earlier at 2am, a fire broke out at a Kelmscott home on Willowmead Way and caused an estimated $150,000 damage.

The DFES spokesperson said seven appliances attended the fire, which was extinguished shortly after 3am.

“The cause of fire was accidental, believed to be a discarded cigarette,” he said.

Fire and Emergency services also attended an accidental Mandurah house fire last night, which caused an estimated $250,000 in damages.
