City of Swan CEO Mike Foley said the playing fields were expected to be ready for use by June next year.

‘Once construction is completed, the playing fields will require three months to ‘bed in’ and allow the turf to establish,’ he said.

‘No sporting activities will take place on the field at this time. The southern playing fields are currently at the tender stage and are expected to be completed by the first half of 2015.’

Mr Foley said the City was still committed to constructing four synthetic playing fields. The north community building was at the tender stage for construction and was expected to be completed by the end of next year.

He added that the south sports pavilion was at the detailed design stage and is expected to be completed by mid-2015, while the recreation centre is at the initial design and estimating phase.
