THE PARENTS of Aveley boy, Kai Nell, who stole the hearts of many around WA during a two-year battle with a rare form of leukaemia, have shared the news that they are expecting another child.
Richard and Kara Nell announced on their Facebook page Team Kai – Beating Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), which they created to raise awareness and support for their three-year-old son’s battle and help search for bone marrow donors, that they are expecting a baby in December.
The couple said they were shocked by the news, but were very happy.

READ NOWMr Nell said it was a very good surprise and he believed Kai would have been so happy to have another brother or sister.
“Kai would have been over the moon. He loved his little brother Brae, so we know he would have loved this baby as well,” he said.
“We were a little concerned about announcing the news, we didn’t want people to think we were trying to replace Kai, because he could never be replaced.
“I believe Kara was put on this earth to be a mother and she is a fantastic mother.”
Kai lost his battle with the disease in January.
