Red cordial in the fountains, extended lunch breaks and no homework would quickly be at risk of becoming school policy.
Luckily, Swan Valley Anglican Community Schools Jackson Joyner and Jasmine Mueller are far more responsible than that, which is why they were selected as student principals for the day last Monday.
They were invited to shadow principal Jason Bartell as he went about his daily schedule.
This included addressing students at the junior school assembly, attending a meeting with the business manager, where they viewed the plans for the library renovation, and then doing a walk-through of the school.
They also had a visit to kindergarten, where they spent some time with the early childhood students.
Jackson said he enjoyed walking around the senior school and seeing all the changes and improvements that are taking place.
I now realise what a hard job Mr Bartell has and that you have to be very committed to be principal, he said.
Jasmine said she enjoyed learning about how the school works and seeing how much work was involved.
