RSPCA WA chief inspector Swift said the cat was taken to the vet, where it was reunited with its owner.

He said the arrow had been removed and the cat would undergo surgery to repair the hole.

“I am deeply concerned to hear of another shooting incident involving a pet cat in one of our suburbs,” he said.

“This is a deeply barbaric attack on an innocent and defenseless animal, and it troubles me that someone could be so cruel.”

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to report it to the RSPCA Cruelty Hotline 1300 278 3589.
