Ruff day for City of Swan rescue team

Sally McGlewThe Advocate

STAFF at the City of Swan had a rough time yesterday trying to rescue what they thought was a dog in a drain in the Beechboro area.

Swan acting chief executive Colin Cameron said the City received a report of a dog in a drain after someone reported hearing it barking.

Mr Cameron said its Community Safety Advocates were unable to lift the concrete inspection cover.

“Machinery was called in to lift the cover and once the cover was removed, a camera was placed down the drain and sent in both directions.

“No dog was found to be in the drain.

“Noises were heard from the drain, but these could have been from another animal, such as a frog,” Mr Cameron said.
