SAT backs City of Swan in The Vines phone tower rejection

Lisa ThomasThe Advocate

THE State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) has knocked back a proposal to build a telecommunications tower in The Vines on the basis it did not meet the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme.

Proponent Optus Mobile applied to the City of Swan to build the tower, but it was not approved because the development was not an incidental use.

Swan chief executive Mike Foley said the City was pleased the application would not go ahead.
