School renovations going well

Staff ReporterThe Advocate

The industrial arts building, science laboratories, general learning community and administration-learning support precincts are all finished.

Principal Bernadette Jones said retaining the features of the original school building were priorities of the architects and builders.

‘It is our intention to refer to the refurbished original wing as the ‘Heritage’ learning community, as it acknowledges the long and rich history of the school,’ she said.

The school now has one entry in Chittering Road, next to the library.

‘The building program is progressing in such a way that we expect it to be completed this year,’ Ms Jones said.

‘In 2014, we look forward to a wonderful opening ceremony at which we will celebrate with the community the completion of the new facilities.’

Parents and friends are invited to the school next Wednesday to view the latest stage of the school’s facilities.
