Shire of Gingin to upgrade Lancelin South Caravan Park

Lucy JarvisThe Advocate

THE Shire of Gingin is upgrading Lancelin South Caravan Park while inviting expressions of interest to redevelop the site.

President David Roe said the Shire had appointed interim managers since it took over management of the site on October 1, and was undertaking improvements.

“These include new fencing, tree lopping, signage, landscaping, boom gates and general maintenance such as lawn mowing,” he said.

“The Shire has already received positive feedback from tourists in relation to camping site accessibility as it continues to make more sites available for the forthcoming holiday season.

“The Shire is also exploring the possibility of incorporating a portable camp kitchen on site to further improve amenity.”

In partnership with Tourism WA, it invited EOIs for the redevelopment by October 28 and Cr Roe said they would review the first stage of submissions in late October.

“It is hoped the Shire will be able to enter into negotiations with a suitably qualified and experienced company for the redevelopment prior to June 30, 2017,” he said.
