Spotlight on road safety

Pearce MHR Christian Porter said the Black Spot Program provided funding to priority locations with a history of serious road accidents.

"Spending many hours driving the roads of the Pearce electorate, I understand how dangerous some of the black spots in our community can be," he said.

"I have been advocating strongly in Canberra for the funding for Campersic Road and it is really pleasing to see that we have been successful in securing this commitment."

From Campersic Road to Dalgety Road to William Street in Herne Hill, $56,300 has been allocated to seal the road shoulders. Mr Porter said the nine black spot projects in Pearce in 2015-16 would be funded more than $2.5 million.

"Already in 2015 the Government has invested a further $276 million in Pearce, bringing the total of road funding investment in our community to more than $1.2 billion."
