SWANS Hills MLA Jessica Shaw and the Ellenbrook Seniors Social Space held a special event for Seniors Week.
The information event provided seniors with options on retirement housing, including the three main providers in Ellenbrook, as well as any concerns or legal implications in choosing for their retirement.
Ms Shaw said the area was complex to understand.

READ NOW“Seniors contact me all the time, expressing confusion about their rights, and concerns about their treatment in retirement housing,” she said.
“I am concerned that our local seniors are not being armed with this vital information when making big decision, often in traumatic and challenging circumstances.”
She said often seniors were also targeted by scammers and during the information session, experts from WA ScamNet were on hand to talk about the most common scams.
