SWAN Valley Anglican Community School and Aveley Primary School have joined forces and registered to be part of the WA Safety House program to provide a safe space for students in times of need.

The program provides a range of safe houses children can go to if they feel unsafe on their way to or from school.

The schools are also encouraging local residents to consider being a safety household if they are home during school travel times and are ready and willing to assist children who come to their door in search of help.

Swan Valley Anglican Community School principal Jason Bartell said the program aimed to achieve a safer and more inclusive community.

“Swan Valley Anglican Community School is an active supporter of the Safe House ideals and wishes to promote the safety of all children within the community at all times,” he said.

“When children require support it is imperative that the community actively assists children to receive the support and help they require.”

If you are interested in becoming a safety house contact Safety House WA 6142 8579 or Swan Valley Anglican Community School on 9297 9506.
