Swan Valley residents input sought on State Govt review of planning framework

RESIDENTS and landowners in the Swan Valley will be invited to provide input on a State Government review of the Swan Valley planning framework, which incorporates the Swan Valley Protection Bill.

The review will provide the Swan Valley community to contribute to the future development of the region and their view on a number of issues, including tourism initiatives, farming, subdivision and what roles a salutatory board for the region would have.

Planning Minister Rita Saffioti said she was pleased to appoint former minister John Kobelke to conduct the review.

“I have asked Mr Kobelke to examine the provisions in the draft Swan Valley Development Plan relating to subdivision agriculture and tourism,” she said.

“I am also keen to ensure a strong advocate for the Swan Valley through a statutory board or committee.

“This review and consultation process will ensure the people who call the Swan Valley home have a real say about the future of this highly valued region.”
