Swan Valley roadworks rescheduled to accommodate peak spring business

ROADWORKS on major highways in and around the Swan Valley will be rescheduled to allow for peak business throughout spring.

Liberal candidate for West Swan and Swan Valley ward councillor Rod Henderson liaised with the Minister for Transport and Main Roads WA to ensure the intersections of Great Northern, Reid and Roe highways remained open.

While doorknocking in the Swan Valley, Mr Henderson said he noted concerns from local tourism operators.

“With around 678 businesses in the Swan Valley, these road works would have had a negative impact on business in the area,” he said.

The shut downs have instead been moved and will commence during January and February, to lessen their impact on tourism and trade.

“I welcome the rescheduled works and commend the Liberal State Government for listening to local businesses and the community to make a practical and economically sound decision,” Mr Henderson said.
