THE SWAN Valley Squares have celebrated their fourth birthday in style at the Woodlake Community Hall.

The event was themed to coincide with St Patrick’s Day and all dancers and food matched the theme “all things green”.

Over 50 dancers took to the floor and square danced the night away.

Greg Fawell from the Swan Valley Squares said the night was a success and even raised $200 for cancer research.

“The club typically donates the proceeds of its raffle at major events to charitable causes and this year was no different, with approximately $200 being raised, which will be donated to The Cancer Council at the request of one of the club members who has recently had a battle with cancer,” he said.

“Dancing offers many social and health benefits, meeting new friends and participating with a wonderful social group having lots of fun and laughter together.

“The club now enters its fifth year with enthusiasm, having grown from a small nucleus to a membership now numbering 40 active and social members.”
