SWAN Valley winemakers and growers have celebrated the end of the harvest with an event at Garbin Estate Wines last night

The event brought producers together to sample wines and discuss the triumphs and troubles of the season.

The 2017 season was tough for many Swan Valley growers and winemakers, with heavy summer rain and flooding destroying crops.

City of Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said it was great to be part of the celebrations.

“It was a pleasure and privilege to be part of the 2017 End of Vintage and harvest celebrations last night,” he said.

Not only is a chance to celebrate the local businesses achievements, but thank them for their dedication to the Swan Valley.

“The Swan Valley wouldn’t be what it is, or where it is, without the people – the region’s local producers, business owners and community members.

“Not only are they incredibly friendly, they are genuinely happy to share their knowledge and rich history – as many of the local businesses go back many generations.

“The passion the local people have for their products and craft is palpable and a joy to experience and be part of.”
