Temporary path eases danger concerns on Park Street

A TEMPORARY footpath has been laid by the City of Swan on Park Street in Henley Brook after ongoing complaints from the local community about the safety of pedestrians on the busy truck route.

The footpath now joins the Avonlee and Whiteman Edge estates along Park Street, making the narrow one-lane road less dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

A Swan Valley Progress Association member said residents of the Avonlee and Brooklands Estates would feel much safer walking to the bus stops on Lord Street, as well as walking to playgrounds in Whiteman Edge.
