Kill Me Three Times, written by Kriv Stenders ” the filmmaker behind the highly acclaimed movie Red Dog ” has attracted an impressive line-up of acting talent, including Britain’s Simon Pegg (Star Trek), Bryan Brown, Luke Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer and Sullivan Stapleton.

Lancelin Beach Hotel will feature in the film as ‘The Rock Hotel’ and scenes have been filmed within Lancelin’s prominent sand dunes, too.

The arrival of the actors and production crew has provided a boost to the local economy, with restaurants and accommodation venues enjoying extra business and the novelty of movie-making in their backyard.

An avid surfer and actor Luke Hemsworth was generous with his praise of Lancelin’s beaches.

‘They are so pristine, real hidden gems,’ he said.

‘I’d love to come back here again to surf.’

Lancelin, along with Margaret River, was one of the preferred coastal locations scouted by producers near Perth.

Production on the film is also being shot at Sunset Hospital, in the Perth suburb of Dalkeith, and the South-West of the State.

Culture and the Arts Minister John Day visited the set last week to present a $7.5 million Lotterywest grant.

Kill Me Three Times is just one example of a local screen project attracting interest at home and abroad,’ Mr Day said.

Kill Me Three Times is a thriller set in an Australian surfing town and follows a young woman who is connected to three cases of murder, blackmail and revenge, told from three points of view.

The film is expected to be released next year.
