Vintage Motown a popular drop

Joel Kelly, The AdvocateThe Advocate

It was Stratosfunk’s turn to woo the audience with their tight Motown tunes as they aptly opened the gig with a cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine.

The nine-piece band got progressively funky and the audience more mobile as the sun dipped below the lush vineyard backdrop.

Throughout the sold-out concert the band lured the picnicking audience to the front of the stage and had them following the choreographed dance moves of the stunning female vocalists.

Powerful vocals combined with a tight rhythm section and beautiful horns ensured even the heaviest of toes were tapping throughout the evening.
