A MUCHEA honey producer came home a winner from the recent WA Industry and Export Awards 2016.

Fewster’s Farm won the agribusiness award in the export category, honouring the family business’s commitment to the industry.

Commerce Minister Michael Mischin congratulated the winners in 17 categories and said the hard work and innovation of these companies was creating jobs and growing the local economy.

“WA boasts a diverse economy and the range of award winners reflects the breadth of industries in this state,” Mr Mischin said.

“The awards recognise the success of local companies in international industries such as environmental solutions, digital technologies, agribusiness and manufacturing.”

He said the WA Industry and Export Awards 2016 highlighted the outstanding success of WA businesses and ensured they received recognition for their achievements.

“This year’s award winners have made a tremendous contribution towards the state’s growth and it’s important to acknowledge their participation in global markets,” he said.

The WA award winners become automatic finalists in the national export awards on November 24.
