The Ellenbrook sub-branch of the Returned and Services League will submit an application at the end of the month to have the old war machine transported from the east coast.
RSL member Darby Munro said the proposed M113 in the memorial park would be the first permanent display of the machine in Australia.
There is a fully-functional M113 in the Army Museum |of WA on Burt Street in Fremantle, but this will be the first to serve as a memorial in a park.
We just need to put a slab of concrete down and park it on there, Mr Munro said.
They are a war machine with fully armoured aluminium and the only thing you could do to them is graffiti them.
Mr Munro said City of Swan had already indicated it would supply an anti-graffiti coating for the vehicle.
All that is needed is help raising $6800 to make it happen.
Any donations to the RSL can be arranged through sub-branch secretary Neil MacNeill. Dr MacNeill can be contacted by email at email@example.com
